Statement of Faith
-
We believe that God is creator of all mankind, having fashioned us in His image, and that He desires relationship with His creation. We believe that we will, through Jesus, receive an inheritance of His love and grace through the Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1 & 2; Galatians 3:29; Ephesians 1:14)
-
We believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, who exist in eternal community and possess equal power and authority.
(John 1:1-5; Matthew 3:13-17; Genesis 1:1-2)
-
We believe that God the Father is holy, all-loving, all-powerful, and all-knowing.
(Isaiah 6:1–5; 1 Peter 1:14–16; Revelation 4:8; Leviticus 19:1–2; Psalm 147:5; Psalm 139:1-3)
-
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His coming return in power and glory.
(John 1:1-5, 14; Colossians 1:15-20; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Peter 2:22; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Romans 5:9-11; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:3-9)
-
We believe in the power, presence, and person of the Holy Spirit, who is active and alive today. From the moment of salvation the Spirit of God then indwells within the believer. The Spirit’s work, in and through us, manifests in various ways including the fruits of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit works in unity with the Father and the Son to accomplish His purpose here on earth. He operates as a companion, helper, and advocate for the believer.
(John 14:16-17, 25-26; John 16-17; Luke 24:49; 1 Corinthians 12, Acts 2:1-4)
-
We believe the Bible is the living word of God, inspired and authoritative, revealing God’s character, His purpose, and love to the world.
(John 1:1-4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Matthew 24:35)
-
We believe that the church is God's plan to bring hope, care, and justice to the world. Designed to operate in partnership with God, the church is commissioned to bring about His Kingdom purpose here on earth.
(Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Timothy 3:14-15 Colossians 1:17-20; Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)
-
We believe in the sacred and symbolic acts of both water baptism and holy communion. Water baptism by immersion is an outward declaration of an inward decision to follow and identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Holy Communion is a sacred ordinance that powerfully symbolizes the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. As we partake of the bread and cup, we remember His broken body and shed blood, and we proclaim His death and resurrection until He returns.
(Romans 6:4-5; Colossians 2:12; Matthew 28;18-20; Mark 14:22-24; John 6:35)
-
We believe that no one is perfect, we have all missed the mark, and that every human being needs salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This gift of salvation, or new birth, is received by faith, through grace, and outworked through the regenerative presence of the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 3:23, Romans 8:1-17; Romans 5:9-11; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, Romans 10:9, Titus 3:4-8
-
We believe in eternity, including heaven and hell, and that the lives we live today have eternal implications.
(Matthew 13:49-50; Matthew 25:45-46; Romans 14:10-12; 2 Corinthians 5:10)
-
We believe in the sanctity of life, that every human life is both sacred and precious, created in the image of God. From the moment of conception to the moment of death every life, from every tribe, nation, and tongue, should be shown dignity, value, protection, and respect.
(Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:1-18; Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:41; Acts 17:24-28; Psalm 17:8; Zechariah 2:8)
-
We believe in the wholeness and power of God’s grace, which is the forgiveness of our sins. This grace is a transformative gift, leading those who believe to repentance, empowering us to live a holy life, and giving us an eternal hope.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Psalm 103:1-18; Romans 11:6; Hebrews 4:16; Titus 2:11-12; 1 Corinthians 15:10; Romans 3:24; Titus 3:7)
